Social Work & Counselling
Kate Tanner
Counsellor and Reiki Therapist
Kate Tanner of Kate of Grace is a counsellor and reiki therapist, specialising in recovery from trauma.
Kate is a qualified social worker with 24 years experience working in the fields of family and domestic violence, child safety, sexual assault support, residential support for homeless women, men's behaviour change, regional youth work, EAP counselling and mental health.
Kate's therapeutic practice continues to evolve to incorporate an understanding of how beliefs are formed and how traumatic experiences can become locked in our bodies and inform unhelpful destructive patterning in our lives.
Kate is also a qualified yoga teacher.
Kate has worked at the Hobart Women's Shelter as the Senior Family Violence Counsellor and is passionate about inviting women to embrace their power.

Ignacio Rodriguez del Yerro
Social Worker
I am a qualified Social Worker with years of therapeutic experience specialising in supporting people impacted by trauma. This work has changed me deeply, making me appreciate with humility the resilience and also the many colours of experience that we inhabit as part of our human condition.
Therapeutically, you will find me to be a companion that offers support to hold awareness, when noticing is hard and overwhelm is present. I do this through careful attention to our therapeutic relationship and by making use of what I know about how trauma operates.
My approach is one based on exploration and understanding, rather than single-focus on change. You can expect a Gestalt flavour, a gentle mindful approach, and the use of many methods for us to communicate, including guided imagery, somatic resourcing, and art therapy. I also offer some psychoeducation during the sessions.
As part of becoming accredited as a Gestalt Psychotherapist, I am currently offering a limited number of low-fee (and highly supervised) psychotherapy sessions.
My days of private practice are Mondays for face-to-face appointments and Friday afternoons for telehealth sessions.
I can be contacted on 0494 191 462 or by email -nacho@walkingtherapytasmania.com.au
Michael Briggs
Counsellor and Psychotherapist - ‘Spirited Therapy’
Welcome to Spirited Therapy. Founder, Michael Briggs, is an EMDR-trained and existentially-informed counsellor and psychotherapist with extensive experience working with a range of issues including anxiety, grief, depression, PTSD, complex and childhood/attachment trauma.
With a strong emphasis on client-focused care, I understand that everyone’s path to healing is unique, and offer a personalised approach to ensure that your therapy journey is tailored to your specific needs and goals. I take an integrative approach to therapy, combining person-centred approaches with cognitive (CBT) and somatic therapies, and EMDR. Above all, I offer a safe space to feel understood and heard.
Compassion lies at the heart of our approach, as we believe that a strong therapeutic alliance is the cornerstone to effective therapy and that, as Irvin Yalom puts it, "it is the relationship that heals".
Al Audus
Counsellor
Hi, I’m Alanna (Al)
I created Inclusive Minds for those seeking inclusive therapy in Hobart and beyond. I know it can be incredibly frustrating trying to find safe and inclusive support when you are already trying to navigate mental health issues. That’s why I’m here to help you get to the bottom of what is keeping you stuck. You know you’ve got it in you to move forward, you just need the support to make it happen, and I can help you get there.
I have extensive experience in supporting all women (including trans women), nonbinary and gender-diverse individuals, LGBTQIA+ folks, and allies as they navigate trauma, domestic violence, self-esteem, ADHD, anxiety and depression, and identity challenges.
I’m here to help
Clients often tell me they feel at ease during our counselling sessions, appreciating my conversational and supportive approach. I use evidence-based therapies like EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and strengths-based approaches to help you address the root causes of your challenges and equip you with practical tools to thrive.
