IMPORTANT NOTICE RE: 2026
In 2021, as the world was starting to open back up after months of lockdowns and restrictions, Hobart massage therapist Eleanor Braithwaite had a vision after seeing this beautiful property at 7 Beach Road, Sandy Bay available for lease. Although she already operated a small-scale wellness business in West Hobart, her dream had outgrown that space. She wanted to create a collective of like-minded practitioners to support the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of the community. A safe place where families were nurtured, and traumas were healed. A place where parents could get the care they needed to ‘put on their own oxygen mask first’. A place where practitioners worked independently, but were surrounded by peers, never alone in the challenges they faced. A true healing hub.
Since then, Beach Road Body and Mind has been home to over 80 independent businesses, with many more enjoying practitioner rooms and meeting facilities on a casual basis. It has been a sanctuary to thousands of you who have visited and benefited from the wonderful array of therapies and services on offer.
Sadly, our lease is ending at the end of January 2026, and the landlord will be selling this lovely but aging heritage-listed building. As a result, the practitioners in ‘the big house’ will be relocating in the New Year. As each of them operates independently, please check directly with your preferred practitioner to find out where they will be moving to and when, and continue to support these amazing small business owners.

On behalf of Eleanor and the team, thank you to each and every one of you who have made Beach Road Body and Mind such a special place to be over the last few years. Together, we truly made what was once a place of illness into a place of wellness.
